Baratang, Dec. 5: On 05/12/2023, during sea patrolling by the staffs of PS Baratang, it is found that some sawn timber was kept abandoned inside the Mangrove tree near Khadi Bashti. On this, Police party comprising SI Surjit Bhattacharjee, SHO PS Baratang, ASI K. Ram Babu, HC Christ Nichale, PCs M. Ashok Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Ramesh and Anup reached the spot and on suspicion recovered 12 Pieces of sawn timber plank measuring 0.459 CBM and seized them under Indian Forest Act, 1927.

This achievement emphasizes the commitment of PS Baratang to environmental conservation and to curb any type of illegal activities. The seizure represents a crucial step in preserving our natural resources. This success sends a clear message that illegal activities will not be tolerated and those responsible will be held accountable.

The seized sawn timber will be handed over to Forest officials for further necessary legal actions.

The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Shri. Chandra Prakash Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
