Port Blair, Dec. 7: The Directorate of Social Welfare organized a visit to the State Library of Port Blair for children from two Child Care Institutions (CCIs) Darussalam Yathem Khana and Pranab Kanya Sangh. The event was not just an outing but a significant educational tour designed to broaden the horizons of the young minds from these CCls. The visit was aimed at fostering a love for reading and a curiosity for knowledge among the children, who were given the opportunity to explore the vast repository of books and resources available at the State Library.

One of the highlights of the visit was the insightful interaction of the children with various literary works and educational materials. Master Abishek Kerketta from Darussalam Yathem Khana expressed his exhilaration with the experience: "It was like stepping into a treasure trove of stories and knowledge. I felt a sense of adventure and excitement as I flipped through the pages of history, science, and literature."

The Director (Social Welfare) highlighted the importance of educational tours as part of a holistic learning process. He said, "Education expands beyond classrooms. Such visits open new vistas for learning and help in the overall development of the child. Our aim is to nurture well-rounded individuals equipped with knowledge and inspiration drawn from the world around them”.
