Port Blair, Dec. 7: A four days comprehensive training on various modules of Public Financial Management System (PFMS) was inaugurated by Shri C. Arvind, Secretary (Finance), A&N Administration in the presence of Shri Anupam Raj, Dy. Controller of Accounts & Shri B.G.K Raju, Asst. Controller General of Accounts, O/o Control General of Accounts, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi in the Auditorium of Tagore Govt. College of Education today. The training will be imparted to around 400 Officials / Staff of Pay & Accounts Cadre and DDOs of Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The training will be imparted by the officials of ITD team of O/O CGA, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi.

Inaugurating the programme, Shri C. Arvind in his address, reiterated the commitment of A & N Administration in implementation of all the new advents as and when directions are issued by O/o CGA or Govt of India. He commended the efforts of Pay & Accounts Organization and also applauded the guidance and support of entire ITD team of O/o CGA. He further requested the team to provide guidance and assistance to Andaman & Nicobar Administration in implementation of Pre-sanction module of PFMS for works.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Anupam Raj applauded the efforts of Pay & Accounts Organization in implementation of various modules of PFMS and said that despite the challenges posed by inadequate network connectivity, the unwavering dedication of Pay & Accounts Organisation, A & N Administration enabled them to regularly adopt the most recent technological advancements.

Shri Das Gupta, Director of Accounts and Budget lauded the team of O/o CGA for their commitment and said that the presence of the Dy. CGA, ACGA and the ITD team of O/o CGA signifies a collaboration, a sharing of insights, and a collective effort toward progress and growth. He expressed gratitude to the O/o CGA for deputing the team for imparting training to Staff / officials of PAO & DDO.

Welcoming the gathering, Smit K. Chinthamani, Pay & Accounts Officer/Nodal officer PFMS-DBT briefed about various modules of the PFMS such EIS, NTRP, Pension, GPF, e-Bill, DBT module etc. and informed that although all the modules have been implemented, numerous modifications and new functionalities have been introduced. The training will elevate their level of productivity and enable them to operate with greater efficiency and effectiveness.
