Port Blair, Dec. 11: The 75 days Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Dr. S.R. DIET, Garacharma. Various activities like traditional/ folk dance representing different States of India, storytelling, role play, community singing, food stalls, display of multilingual books and costumes, created awareness on multilingualism were the programmes conducted during this 75 days long celebration.

The valedictory function was conducted on Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas today. Paying homage to the noble laureate C. Subramania Bharathi, the programme started by garlanding the portrait of C. Subramania Bharathi by Smti Sunita Chakraborty, Principal, DIET. The Principal highlighted the role of C. Subramania Bharati in the field of literature, freedom struggle and other social reforms.

Cultural programmes were presented strengthening the language harmony by the trainees of DIET. Ayush Dubey, a second year trainee spoke on the theme ‘Bhasha Sangam- Celebrating the Linguistic Diversity of India’.
