Port Blair, Dec. 18: In a significant stride towards enhancing tourist safety and promoting the pristine beauty of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a state-of-the-art Tourist Police Kiosk was inaugurated today at Cellular Jail. The inauguration witnessed the presence of the Director General of Police, highlighting the commitment of the authorities to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for visitors.

The Tourist Police Kiosk is a pioneering initiative aimed at facilitating and assisting tourists coming to the Islands, with a special focus on the historical site of Cellular Jail. This endeavour signifies a novel approach to connect the police force with the public, fostering positive interactions and providing valuable support to visitors.

The DGP emphasized the potential of the kiosk to not only enhance safety measures but also to boost tourism in the region. The collaboration with the Port Blair Municipal Council played a pivotal role in bringing this initiative to function.
