Series of programs organized in support of the campaign

Port Blair, Dec. 21: The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) campaign carried on its momentum within the urban confines by hosting an event at the Tagore Government College Auditorium, Middle Point today. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri B. G. Krishnan, Director (Services) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Shri Arjun Sharma, Secretary (Planning/APWD), A & N Administration, Shri Dilkhush Meena, Secretary (PBMC), Shri Abhishek Bhukal, Joint Secretary (PBMC) and Shri Anand Vardhan Mishra, Assistant Commissioner, District Office, South Andaman.

During the event, series of engaging programs were organized in support of the campaign besides videos on 'Viksit Bharat' shared by the GoI were screened for the gathering. General public and Officials took part in the Viksit Bharat Pledge which was administered by Shri Arjun Sharma, Secretary (Planning/APWD), A & N Administration, emphasizing the importance of collective participation in the journey towards a developed India.

While welcoming the gathering, Shri Dilkhush Meena, Secretary (PBMC), highlighted the achievement of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra across the Islands. The journey commenced from the Southernmost Islands of the Union Territory of A & N Islands, spanning nearly all Panchayats across three Districts. In urban areas, it effectively reached 22 out of 24 Wards. He proudly stated that the Viksit Yatra resulted in numerous beneficiaries availing various schemes offered by the Government of India.

Earlier, the specially designed IEC Van of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was extended a warm welcome at the venue by the Van Nodal Officer, Smti Vandana George and the residents of the area. A PM SVANidhi beneficiary shared her story under 'Meri Kahani Meri Zubani', on the transformational change brought about by the Government flagship schemes in her life. A colourful cultural programme on patriotic theme and 'Viksit Bharat' was presented by the students of Model Sr. Sec. School and Girl's Sr. Sec. School, drawing a loud applause from the audience.

Proposing the vote of thanks, the Joint Secretary, PBMC, Shri Abhishek Bhukal stated that 'Viksit Bharat' campaign is being organized in different wards of the city area to reach out to the public and make them aware about various Central Government's Welfare Schemes, so that the benefits of the schemes could be availed by all people residing in remote areas and cover the last mile beneficiaries.
