Port Blair, Dec. 22: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) took a decisive stand today the 22nd of December, 2023 to collectively oppose the suspension of 146 Member of Parliament's from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and to protest against the BJP's continuous move to destroy the political democracy in our country. The protest was orchestrated under the leadership of ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Shri. TSG Bhasker.

The protest commenced from the Congress Office, Port Blair in the form of a rally and proceeded towards Gandhi Statue where the Congress Leaders amplified their collective voice against this murder of democracy, while also emphasizing the importance of equal parliamentary representation. The suspension of opposition MP's drew criticism worldwide not only for its severity but also for its potential impact on democratic discourse.

Many Party Leaders holding banners and placards raised slogans against the assault on democracy by the BJP led Modi Government.

The protest was addressed by Shri. Rangalal Halder, Shri. TSG Bhasker, Senior Congress Leader Shri. Hamid Ali, Mahila Coordinator South Andaman Smt. Zubaida Begum, Zilla Parishad Member Ms. Mariyam Bibi and NSUI State President Mr. M.A Sajid. The protest was also attended by leaders of all Frontal Organizations, ANTCC Department & Cells, PBMC Councilors, PRI Members, Senior Congress Leaders and all fervent party workers.
