Kamorta, Dec. 26: The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services conducted a Veterinary Health Camp/Awareness Programme at Tapong Village of Champin Island. The main objective of the camp was to educate Tribal farmers to rear pigs in enclosed areas, as open rearing may spoil vegetations as it may also create unhygienic conditions. The programme was also aimed to provide medical care for animals in Tapong Village and distribute essential medicine to address common veterinary issues and also to educate the community on animal health and preventive measures. During the camp, a thorough health –examination for animals brought to the camp, immediate treatment was provided for the sick animals and addressing issues such as infections, injuries and common ailments.

Essential veterinary medicines, including antibiotics, deworming, multivitamins & feed supplements were distributed to the tribal farmers. Informative session were held to educate the tribal community on proper animal care nutrition and disease prevention.

Local tribal residents actively participated, bringing their animals for check-ups and engaging in group discussion about better animal husbandry practices. Interactive- questions –and-answer session allowed farmers to seek the clarification on various aspects of the ongoing schemes promoting better understanding and participation. Tribal farmers were provided detailed information about existing schemes including their objectives, benefits & eligibility criteria.
