Port Blair, Jan 2: The Director General of Police, Shri Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS today visited the India Reserve Battalion (HQ), Port Mout to analyze the operational capabilities, training facilities and the overall functioning of the unit including inauguration of an “Open Air Gymnasium”. The DGP, ANI was accompanied by all DIGsP, SSP and other senior officers of A&N Police. 

Upon reaching the IRBn campus, an impressive Guard of Honour was presented to the DGP, A&N Islands. Subsequently, "Feddy’s Fit Zone," an Open Air Gym, was inaugurated and dedicated to IRBn/Police personnel and their families, marking a commitment to their well-being. 

The “Feddy’s Fit Zone” is symbolically named in honour/memory of Late Constable/021283 Fredrick @ Feddy, a devoted member of India Reserve Battalion, who sadly passed away on 28/11/2023 due to Cardiac arrest. Constable Fredrick's remarkable service, dedication to duty, and passion for learning are commemorated in this fitting tribute. The symbolic naming of the Fit Zone, honours Constable Fredrick's exemplary service, resilience, and significant contributions to the India Reserve Battalion, leaving an indelible mark on the unit's history.

Speaking on the Occasion the DGP, A&N Islands, emphasized that beyond a fitness center, the facility symbolizes progress and a commitment to a healthier future for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands' Police community. DGP, A&N Islands further urged all officers & personnel of IRBn, A&N Police to approach their duties with heightened commitment, ensuring the safety and well-being of society.

The entire event was organized by IRBn Officers under the supervision of Shri Naveen Kumar, Deputy Commandant (IRBn), closely monitored by Smti. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Commandant (IRBn).
