Car Nicobar, Jan. 5: In a significant stride towards ‘Digital India’, the Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Ms Jyoti Kumari, IAS unveiled the era of e-services by inaugurating an e-Corner in the premises of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Campbell Bay, the Southernmost Tehsil of India today. The inauguration was done in a befitting manner in the presence of Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Shri Abhishek Gulia, PRI Members, local Govt. Officials and general public. The opening of e-Corner at Campbell Bay Tehsil marks a significant leap towards streamlining administrative processes, reducing paper works and providing faster services to the residents of Great Nicobar Island. The e-Corner will serve as a hub for a variety of digital services offering convenience to the local population. The launch of e-services will provide an easier platform for the applicants to avail various certificates such as Local Certificate, Tribal Certificate, Resident Certificate, income Certificate etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Jyoti Kumari, emphasized the importance of such e-corners which acts as a catalyst in bridging gap between Administration and the local community. She also issued online Resident Certificate and Senior Citizen Certificate to some of the applicants during the function. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that this type of e-corners will be shortly established at Kamorta, Katchal, Chowra and Teressa Island.

Shri Abhishek Gulia, Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay informed that the applicants can avail the benefit of online services from the e-corner as well as from their nearby Common Service Centers. Citizens can also avail the services by directly login to the website https://edistrict.andaman.gov.in
