Port Blair, Jan 5: The National Students Union of India State President, Mr. M.A Sajid has demanded for expediting process of filling up of 413 PST posts in the Education Department.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Sajid said that the Education Department has notified to fill up the vacant 413 PST posts which were deemed abolished and the RR for the same was released earlier.

In this regard, Sajid has requested the Chief Secretary to expedite the process for filling up of these posts at the earliest and complete the recruitment by the end of January, 2024 so that the unemployed youths of Andaman & Nicobar Islands who have been waiting for 8 to 10 years can grab the opportunity.

Sajid also stated that during the GTT recruitment process held recently, the applications were called in Online mode and it was seen that a large number of youths from the mainland had submitted their application.

Therefore, considering the issue arising against the local youths, Sajid requested the Chief Secretary to consider on accepting Application Forms from the candidates through “Offline” mode for the PST posts whose recruitment process is anticipated soon. He said that doing this will help more and more Islander youths to get the job opportunity.
