Port Blair, Jan 14: The Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra IAS launched the digital portal SANKALP in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman Smti. Veditha Reddy, Secretary Port Blair Municipal Council, Shri Dilkhush Meena, Additional District Magistrate and Sub Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman on 13th January 2024 at Balika Niketan, Attam Pahad, Port Blair.
Addressing the gathering the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra appreciated the Innovative initiative by the District Administration and mentioned that this Portal will be the medium of welfare for children by the Islander as well the people in mainland.
The Portal SANKALP is designed by the District Administration, South Andaman and is the first ever initiative in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Island for the children of CCI. The Portal is a digital platform to channelize the organised mechanism of contribution and support for an individual or institution who desire to support the children of Child Care Institutions with essential needs, educational support and additional services.
Earlier, the program began with the plantation of sapling by the Chief Guest in the premises of Balika Niketan, thereby lighting of the auspicious lamp. The children of Balika Niketan Presented a welcome song and a dance on the occasion. Shri Dilkush Meena, Secretary PBMC welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering and briefed about the child care institutions of the district and highlighted on the portal
On the Occasion, Shri Muthu Pandi was awarded with the Certificate of Appreciation for the designing of the portal by the Chief Guest.
The programme was attended by the representatives from various NGOs and Institutions and the Incharges of Child Care Institutions and Officials from Social Welfare Department were present.
