Diglipur, Jan. 24: The ICDS Project (Rural), Diglipur celebrated National Girl Child Day at GPOA Hall, Administrative Building, Diglipur today. Shri Aditya Kumar Asthana, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur was the chief guest on the occasion. He appreciated the CDPO, Diglipur for organizing the programme and encouraged to conduct innovative programmes in future for better reach of the message in thye community. Smt. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, Diglipur addressed the gathering and discussed the challenges faced by a girl child, its impact on community, role of individual in promoting girl child and services provided by Government agencies to promote and empower girl child.

Officials from other Departments also spoke on the occasion. During the programme, Ms. Barsha Halder, a Class XI student from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Diglipur was declared as ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ who in future will motivate good number of girls in North & Middle Andaman. Participants who took part in sports were also awarded with prizes.

The initiative recognizes the potential of every girl child, and advocates for a society where girls can access equal opportunities and contribute meaningfully. Smt. Pratima Rai, Mukhya Sevika, ICDS Project (Rural), Diglipur proposed the vote of thanks.
