Port Blair, Jan 24: The A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) is organizing Mid Media campaign through folk performance along with Mobile Information Education and Communication (IEC) Van form 23rd January 2024 to 08th February 2024 in A&N Islands.
Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director ANACS launched the campaign and flagged off the IEC van on 23rd January 2024.
The folk performance will include dance, song with message on Routes of HIV & STI transmission, Prevention, Safe sexual behaviours, Prevention of Parents to Child Transmission (PPTCT), Stigma and Discrimination, Counselling, Testing and other Services available at various facilities for HIV, National Toll Free AIDS Helpline – 1097, HIV and AIDS (Protection & Control) Act, 2017 and NACO AIDS App. A total of fifty folk performances will be organised in South Andaman district and 35 in North & Middle Andaman.
The folk troop will also be performing in 55 Sec & Sr. Sec Schools of South Andaman District from 23rd January 2024 to 6th February 2024. The program is for the Students of class VIII and above.
The IEC Van with PA system will be delivering audio messages on HIV/AIDS and its related issues throughout its route in all the three districts.
