NABARD and WITH YOU Empower Women through Micro-Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program

Hopetown, Jan 25: NABARD, Port Blair in a significant collaboration with the NGO 'WITH YOU', successfully organized a 21-day Micro-Entrepreneurship Skill Development Program focused on tailoring, fashion designing, and sewing machine repairing. The program, hosted in Hopetown community hall, was designed for 30 aspiring women entrepreneurs from rural villages, primarily targeting members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

This initiative aimed to empower these women towards self-dependence by equipping them with essential entrepreneurial skills. The program's core objective was to not only bolster their confidence but also to pave the way for new employment opportunities within their communities.

The concluding ceremony of this transformative program was graced by the presence of esteemed guests including Smti Swati, AGM of NABARD, Smti Gurjeet Kaur, Extension Officer Directorate of RD/PRIs, Smti Pallavi Gupta, a member of the Inner Wheel Club, Dr Sabiha Mulla, a renowned businesswoman entrepreneur, Pradhan and PRI members of Hopetown Gram Panchayat. Their presence and insights added immense value to the event.

A notable highlight of the program was the distribution of certificates to the participants by these distinguished guests, who also took the opportunity to inspire the SHG members. They emphasized the importance of setting up individual units and exploring employment avenues through digital marketing and other modern channels.

Furthermore, the program facilitated valuable interactions between the trainees and various resource persons, including bank representatives and fashion designers. These experts shed light on numerous schemes and financial assistance options available through banks, aimed at supporting these women in kickstarting their entrepreneurial ventures.

The inspiring speeches by NGO members further motivated the participants, underscoring the program's success in fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. V.K. Mariyam Bibi, President of WITH YOU, who extended gratitude to NABARD for their sponsorship and pivotal role in this skill development program.
