Port Blair, Jan 31: With a view to promote good nutrition amongst the Islanders, the Directorate of Social Welfare will be organizing a ‘Food Mela’ at Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School from 3 pm to 8 pm on Feb.10,2024.

In this regard, the Directorate of Social Welfare has invited applications from Self-Help Groups (SHGs), NGOs, and Anganwadi workers to set up stalls to showcase varieties of mouthwatering and nutritious dishes.

This unique event not only celebrates the diverse flavors of our community but also aims to create awareness about the importance of good nutrition. SHGs, NGOs, and Anganwadi workers will have the opportunity to sell their culinary creations, contributing to a vibrant culinary marketplace.

The Food Mela will not only be a gastronomic delight but also a cultural extravaganza. Captivating cultural events that showcase the rich heritage of our community will also be organized.
