Mayabunder, Feb. 1: As part of his 4-day visit to Mayabunder and Middle Andaman, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee reached Mayabunder on 31st January, 2024 morning. Ayyappan visited several places at Mayabunder, met a number of important persons including elected PRI functionaries.
On 31st January 2024, Ayyappan, who is also the Vice President of CITU A & N State Committee, addressed a meeting of the daily rated workers working in Mayabunder. Addressing the workers, he briefly explained the various anti-working class and anti-farmer policies being pursued by the central government and said that workers and farmers are fighting against these policies throughout the country. He called upon the workers to participate in the mass processions and public meeting being organized in the islands in support of the All India industrial strike on 16th February, 2024 against these policies. Muralidharan Pillai, President, CITU Mayabunder Zonal Committee presided over the meeting while C. Murugan, Secretary, CITU Zonal Committee and Ramesh Pradhan, Vice President, ASNVMS Mayabunder Branch and Zaved Mohammed also addressed the meeting.
He also addressed another meeting of workers on 1st February, 2024 at Mayabunder. K. Muralidharan Pillai, President, Mayabunder Zonal Committee of CITU presided over the meeting while C. Murugan, Secretary, Zonal Committee and Zaved Mohammed of ASNVMS also addressed the meeting.
