Port Blair, Feb 1: Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) today organised Abhinandan Samaroh in the presence of National President of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Shri. Hrinmay Pandya and National Vice President Shri. Sankari Mallesham. The Samaroh started with lighting of the lamp and giving floral tribute to Bharat Mata and Thengdi, founder of BMS.

In the welcome address Shri. Jaydeep Kr. Dey, President, ANRKM conveyed that the organisation is continuously working for the betterment of the working class and unitedly we have achieved various goals by the way of talks, discussions and closure of all doors took the option of Protest. In the mode of protest also initially everywhere, we taken the Gate Protest, Black ribbon tied working, Public Meeting and as the last tool gone for the Tool down Strike as well as Relay Hunger Strike. The joint efforts of all units brought happiness in the life of DRMs by way of sanctioning Bonus as well as 1/30th of Pay, in which the cooperation of Shri. Vishal Jolly is praise worthy.

All the affiliated association’s secretary presented their report in which Ms. Kiran Kumari presented the report of CPWD Contractual employees Sangh, Shri. Vivekanand Singh presented the report of ANIIMS Karmachari Sangh, Shri. Laxman Mehra presented the report of Part Time Education Employees Sangh, Smt. Shikha Biswas kept the report of DBRAIT Karmachari Sangh, report of IP & T Karmachari Sangh was kept by Shri. Samuel, Ms. Viji presented the report of Swasthya Vibhag Karmachari Sangh, Shri. K. Thirumuniyan submitted the report of Nagarpalika Swachhtha Karmachari Sangh, Shri. Jogeshwar Rao given the report of DSS Karmachari Sangh, Shri. Sujoy Dey given the report of Andaman Nicobar Islands NHM Karmachari Sangh, Shri. Asit Gain kept the report of Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works Karmachari Sangh and finally Shri. Rajesh presented the report of APWD Karmachari Sangh. All the associations kept their issues as well as achievement after joining the ANRKM and what is their expectations further for their well-being.

Shri. S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary, ANRKM briefed about the history of ANRKM and activities carried out in which the protests and its reflection in the society on strengthening the working class. The exploitation of working class in A & N Islands is on the top level and for all benefits we are compelling to march to Road. The General Secretary expressed gratitude to the National President and National Vice President to spare time out of the busy schedule in the current visit to our Islands.

Shri. Sunkari Mallesham, National Vice President, BMS addressed the gathering and listed the changes brought out by BMS, by creating protest and other modes before the Govt. to bring legislation in favour of working class, in which increase of compensation, many provisions in EPF etc. Further added that BMS is always working for the betterment of working class and in future replacement of minimum wages by Living wages. 

Shri. Hrinmay Pandya, National President, BMS appreciated the work of ANRKM with the report presentation of its affiliated associations and briefed about the benefits of EPF and its implementation after the current Govt. come into power. Now the EPF Subscriber can work any place with the same registration number. It was informed that BMS is protesting continuously for reinstating Old Pension Scheme. Now due to constant work and faith among the working class, the BMS has emerged as the country’s biggest Working class union. We got the opportunity to chair the Labour 20 (L20) under the G20 summit. Globally BMS is known for its dedication towards the working class. All the Office Bearers has to concentrate on increasing the representation of Women in BMS. He further told that the issues of working class in these islands is very vital and if the Administration is not considering the request for regularisation big protest has to be formulated in which the participation from National level also will be ensured. BMS is always in the path of protest for the working class. He expressed gratitude for organising Abhinandan samaroh on his arrival.

At the end, Shri. Vishal Jolly, briefed the struggling of working class in these islands and presented the achievements carried out with the support of all unions. Further, in the matter of ASHA worker and DRMs / Contract employees a pathway from Delhi will be working out and hope for the best days will come soon.
