Diglipur, Feb 2: In a significant operation, the dedicated staff of PS Kalighat consisting of SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat, HC Ashok Samaddar, PCs Sushil Sarkar, Eileen and Subrata Biswas successfully seized 60 grams of illicit Ganja and apprehended the accused, identified as Kritibas Mazumder a resident of Paranghara.

Based on reliable intelligence, on 01/02/2024, the team proceeded to the residence of the suspected person. A comprehensive search was conducted, leading to the discovery of one transparent polythene bag, wrapped in a yellow-colored carry bag, concealed in the accused’s bedroom. The bag contained 60 grams of illicit ganja, resulting in the arrest of the alleged perpetrator. The operation reflects the unwavering commitment of the Kalighat Police in curbing the illegal narcotics trade within the community. The arrest of the accused is a testament to the relentless efforts of law enforcement in maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law which amplifiers the mission of North & Middle Andaman Police to eradicate the menace of illicit substances from the community.

This operation sends a clear message that illegal activities will not be tolerated, and those involved will face the full force of the law. The accused will be prosecuted under the stringent NDPS Act.

The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri Chandra Prakash Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
