Port Blair, Feb 2: The Indian Coast Guard celebrated its 48th Raising Day on 01 Feb 24 and organised various events to mark this momentous day. A series of run-up events were organised during the month of Jan 24 to ensure mass awareness about ICG. The events included coastal cleanup, school visits, bicycle rallies, painting and quiz competitions, blood donation camps and special Community Integration Programmes (CIPs).

The events culminated with a Coast Guard Reception on 01 Feb 24, attended by dignitaries from Andaman and Nicobar Command, A&N Administration, Center and State Govt. officials and civilians. Air Marshal, Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VSM, Commander–in-Chief (A&N) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

During the event a special performance,” Miracle on wheels” by India’s first wheel chair dance group showcased the exceptional talent of differently-abled artists.
