Port Blair, Feb 4: As part of the Animal Welfare Fortnight, in a collaborative effort the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services alongwith the Rotary Club of Port Blair and students of JNRM organised a program dedicated to feeding stray animals. In this initiative, 50 stray animals (Dogs, Cattle) in and around Port Blair were fed with biscuits, bread and grains. Moreover, 20 reflective dog collars were affixed to stray dogs to mitigate the risk of road accident, particularly during night time. This joint endeavor not only sought to meet the immediate needs of stray animals but also conveyed a societal message promoting compassion towards them.
