Port Blair, Feb 4: M.J Music Academy, Port Blair organised a Shabbir Kumar Night on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024 at the historic Andaman Club to pay tribute to the legendary singer. The occasion was graced by Shri Rajender Pall, BDO Ferrargunj and Prothrapur as the chief guest followed by Smti Zubaida Begum, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC as the guest of honour. Shri Denis Giles, Editor, Andaman Chronicle and Ms. Mumtaz Banu, Retd. Announcer, All India Radio were the special guests on the occasion.  

MJ Music Academy has been functioning since 2013 and has been providing classes to students in providing Hindustani Classical Vocal Musical Classes. The academy comprises of passionate employees such as government service workers, teachers and youths.

The academy is affiliated from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. People who have graduated from the academy have received successful placements in many reputed institutions and organisations. A major achievement of the academy is training a specially abled girl Nita Baroi in vocal music, who got selected as a music teachers in a government firm later.

Apart from musical classes the academy also conducts dance classes in Bharatanatyam. Many of its students are also working in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan as dance teachers.

M.J Music Academy also organises programme in Music as well as in dance to bring out the hidden talents of our islands. The goal of the academy is to make each and every student capable of standing in a position wherein they are able to shine.
