Port Blair, Feb 7: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has called upon the Health Secretary, A&N Admn. highlighting the alarming shortage of essential Medical personnel at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kalighat.

In a letter addressed, he said that PHC Kalighat currently grapples with a deficit in technicians, nurses and doctors, hindering essential healthcare services. Despite possessing a functional X-ray machine, the absence of qualified technicians has impeded timely diagnostic services to patients.

Moreover, he stated that with only one nurse and one female doctor, the PHC faces a strain on resources, resulting in delayed treatment and potential compromises in patient care and limited staff struggles to meet the healthcare needs of the local population.

He appealed to the Health Secretary to intervene and address the staffing deficiencies at PHC Kalighat to safeguard the well-being of the patients and ensure the healthcare services they rightfully deserve.
