Port Blair, Feb 13: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations will commence from Feb.15, 2024 in these Islands. The AISSE (Class X) exams will commence with Painting as first paper on Feb.15, 2024. However, the main papers will begin from Feb. 20, 2024 with Bengali /Tamil /Telugu. The students of AISSCE (Class XII) will have Hindi paper on Feb. 19, 2024. The Class X exam will end on March 13, 2024 with subject Computer Application/Information Technology while the Class XII exam will end on April 2, 2024 with subject Information Practice/Computer Science/Information Technology. All arrangements have been made to monitor and ensure smooth conduct of examinations.

This year, the number of regular candidates likely to appear in CBSE for AISSCE (Class XII) is 4977 and AISSE (Class X) is 5510 students as regular candidates. Altogether 10487 regular candidates will appear in the ensuing CBSE examination from this UT for 2023-24.

Altogether, 47 examination Centres have been identified to facilitate student of AISSCE and AISSE appearing from this UT including the private candidates, Nationalized Bank/Police Station/Police Out Post have also been identified as custodian of examination confidential materials by CBSE for safe custody. Appointment of Centre Superintendent is being done by the Regional Officer, CBSE, Chennai to ensure free and fair conduct of these exams.
