Billiground, Feb 13: The Police Station Billiground took a significant step towards empowering young girls by providing self-defence training to 200 girls students at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Panchawati. In a collaborative effort to promote self-defence, physical fitness, and mental well-being, PS Billiground conducted a comprehensive self Defence workshop at the esteemed Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Panchawati. The event aimed to equip young girls with essential self-defence skills and instil confidence in them.

The training sessions, led by PC/1891 Anurudhra Das, Drill Instructor from PS Billiground under the supervision of SI Shiju Kumar, SHO PS Billiground, covered a range of techniques focusing on personal safety and physical fitness. The participants engaged in dynamic exercises, learning fundamental principles of various Unarmed Combat disciplines.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Rahul L Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, "Empowering young women with self-defence skills is crucial in today's world. Our goal is to instil confidence and resilience in these girls, enabling them to navigate the challenges they may encounter."

The Principal Smti. Jolly Vincent, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Panchawati appreciated the efforts of PS Billiground in contributing to the holistic development of their students. The principal expressed gratitude, stating, "Such initiatives play a pivotal role in nurturing not only physical strength but also mental resilience among our students."

The event concluded with a demonstration where participants showcased the skills they acquired during the training sessions. SP(D) N&MA provided certificates of participation to all the girls, recognizing their commitment to learning and personal development.

This collaboration between PS Billiground and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Panchawati is a testament to the importance of fostering empowerment and self-reliance among young women. Swaraksha Programme is the vision of Smti Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS SP (D) N&MA and since its inception this event took place at over North & Middle Andaman and informed that the impact of this Swaraksha training program is expected to resonate positively in the lives of these girls, enhancing their overall well-being and confidence.
