Port Blair, Feb 15: Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against drugs, on the basis of specific intelligence input regarding transportation of contraband through courier service, on 13/02/2024 a team of PS Central Crime Station comprising of Inspr. Vishal Ram, SHO PS CCS, SI Parvash, Head Constable Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur and K. Venkateshwar Rao, Constable K. Rajendran & Chandran under the supervision of Dy.SP (CID) conducted a raid at Gurudwara Line and arrested one person namely Malser Paul S/o Shri. Radha Krishna (33) yrs, Pvt. Worker R/o Lillipur, Haddo with possession of parcel approximately 02 Kgs of Ganja which was transported from mainland through private courier services. 

A case under NDPS Act has been registered at newly establish Anti-Narcotics Police Station and during the course of investigation, co-accused A. Naganathan S/o Late S. Arumugam (40) yrs R/o Sunder Colony, Haddo and the main supplier of contraband and mastermind namely Akash Dubey S/o Shri Amarnath Dubey (21) yrs R/o Badhalgunj, Dist-Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh have also been arrested. Both Akash Dubey and A. Naganathan were earlier involved in NDPS Cases.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the main supplier Akash Dubey used to transport contraband Ganja from Kolkata through courier services which were received by A. Naganathan and Malser Paul to sell the contraband to the youth of these islands.

With this successful operation, CID Unit, A&N Police has busted the entire chain of drug supply in the islands with the arrest of supplier, receiver and distributer

During investigation, another 66 grams of Ganja has been recovered from the possession of A. Naganathan.

The raid took place under the command of Dy.SP (CID) and overall supervision of Shri Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID).
