Port Blair, Feb 20: With a vision to give a fresh look to the old Municipal Shops, through CSR Funding, the continuous efforts of Secretary PBMC, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, has resulted in the State Bank of India joining hands with PBMC under CSR.As a first step, the SBI is funding for renovation of market area in front of SBI Head Office opposite Gandhi Statue.

As a first step, the Small Shops (Gumties) near SBI is proposed to be revamped to give a fresh look. A proposal was presented to SBI and after discussion and deliberations, SBI had readily accepted to join hands with PBMC in facelifting the structure which otherwise had a bad shape and shops were in dilapidated conditions. Towards this initiative, the SBI has contributed Rs. 10.00 lakhs as CSR to PBMC. On Feb.16, 2024, Shri Sujay Kumar Yadav, General Manager, State Bank of India, LHO, Kolkata handed over a cheque of Rs.10 Lakhs to Shri Dilkush Meena, IAS, Secretary, PBMC at the PBMC Head Quarters in the presence of Officials of SBI and PBMC.

PBMC has plans to develop more such market areas and shops, interested stakeholders have been requested to come forward and join hands with PBMC for beautifying and making public spaces more accessible, clean and unique recreational spaces in the city.
