Port Blair, Feb 22: In view of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, the Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS held a meeting with the Returning Officer, ANIPC, State Police Nodal Officer, ANI, Officers of Election Department to review election planner, SVEEP plan & welfare measures for poll personnel.

As per the Election Commission of India planner, various activities are to be carried out as per the schedule. The CEO also discussed to increase the voters turnout by carrying out various activities, creating awareness among voters to use their voting rights under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP).

Conduct of elections involves diverse activities that are carried out by an election machinery comprising of officials and staff from various Departments. The Election Commission of India has always endeavoured to ensure welfare of election machinery and to provide them all the necessary basic facilities while performing their duty in challenging circumstances. The CEO has directed to ensure to provide facilitations and welfare measures for polling personnel as per the Commission’s instructions.
