Port Blair, Feb 22: DG Rakesh Pal, AVSM, PTM, TM, the Director General Indian Coast Guard, accompanied by Mrs. Dipa Pal, President CGWWA, arrived Port Blair today. The Flag Officer is on a four day’s visit to these strategically important islands to over view ICG operational and development plans in A&N Islands.

Soon after his arrival the DGICG visited HQANC to interact with CINCAN and discussed various matters related to maritime security and safety. The discussion also focused on fostering collaboration among stakeholders to enhance overall maritime resilience and efficiency in Andaman & Nicobar.

Later, the DGICG visited Regional Headquarters (A&N) and was apprised on functional dynamics, operational capabilities and infra development projects in progress at various locations all across A&N. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of projects to enhance efficiency and efficacy of ICG operations. The Flag Officer in his address to ICG officers, emphasised the importance of A&N region and to remain vigilant for meeting emerging maritime security challenges. He further stressed upon training, cross deployments and co-ordination amongst all stakeholders.

The Flag Officer’s keen insight and strategic guidance underscored the imperative for heightened preparedness to ensure a swift and effective response to any unforeseen scenarios.
