Port Blair, Feb. 26: In connection with the upcoming General Election-2024, a training programme on Election Expenditure, MCC and MCMC was organised in the conference hall of Tagore Government College today.

In the inaugural address, the Resource Person, A&N Parliamentary Constituency, Shri M Mohammed Ashraf said, media plays a vibrant role during election and they need to act as watchdog, especially when the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) come into force as soon as the election is declared. The Election Express mobile vans are deployed to create awareness among the masses for their maximum participation in the democratic process with the Election theme 2024 ‘Chunav Ka Parv Desh Ka Garv’.

Shri M Mohammed Ashraf also presented power point presentation about the detailed instructions of Election Commission of India regarding Election Expenditure Monitoring, Legal Provisions and Structure of Election Expenditure Monitoring. The training was attended by Police Officers, EMM teams and others.
