Port Blair, Feb 27: In a notable achievement, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have once again reached a significant milestone, securing the top position with 96.67% among Union Territories and secured the 7th Rank among the States/UTs in the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard of the National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi for the month of January 2024.The CCTNS is a flagship project of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which aims to create a nationwide networked infrastructure for the integration of all Police stations across the country. The Andaman and Nicobar Police has achieved this milestone by achieving 100% connectivity among its Police stations, replicating 100% data from SDC to NDC, and ensuring a 100% response rate on the NCRP helpline, among other accomplishments, for the month of January 2024. Andaman & Nicobar Islands has consistently maintained its high ranking in CCTNS among all States/UTs including the first position for the 3rd time within eight months.

The CCTNS PRAGATI Dashboard serves as a crucial tool for tracking and managing crime data at a national level, providing valuable insights into the performance, dedication, progressive development, and effectiveness of States and Union Territories in implementing and overseeing crime prevention and detection measures. The remarkable achievement of securing top positions reflects the consistent and dedicated efforts of the Andaman and Nicobar Police.

Further, recently PC/1116 C. Alok Ram from the A&N Police was honored for his significant contributions to the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) & Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS). He was recognized in the individual officer's category by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). On December 22, 2023, he received the aforementioned award during the 5th Conference on Good Practices in CCTNS/ICJS held at NCRB, New Delhi.

Through the unwavering dedication of the CCTNS team, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have reached this significant milestone, securing the top position on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) PRAGATI Dashboard.
