Port Blair, Feb. 28: The Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. B. S. Jaglan, IAS is on a two days visit to Nancowry Group of Islands from Feb. 28 to review the election preparedness in view of upcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha - 2024. He reached Kamorta today and convened a meeting with Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Nancowry, Shri Anuj Kumar Bharti along with Sector Officers at the Office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, Nancowry.

During the meeting, CEO briefed about the pivotal role in election management and responsibilities of the Sector Officers in General Election. Sector Officer serves as a link between Presiding Officers/Polling Parties, Returning Officers and District Election Officers. CEO assured to provide all necessary support from the concerned Department for the smooth conduct of election.

Later, CEO visited Polling Stations at GMS Kamorta and GPS Munak, a tribal village to reaffirm the readiness of Polling Station.

The CEO will visit Chowra Island on Feb. 29. He will interact with the Polling Officials, review the polling infrastructure and Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) of Polling Stations as per ECI instructions.
