Port Blair, March 4: On 29th Feb. 2024 a written complaint was received from Shri K. Dilly Raj, Deputy Manager, Megapode Resort wherein he mentioned that on 29th February 2024 at around 0800 hrs while on inspection of the resort area, he noticed that someone have entered the campus of Megapode resort and stolen the AC Unit Copper pipes lying outside the room from the following rooms i.e. Room No 128, Room No. 129. Earlier also the AC Unit Copper pipes of Room No. 131 & 132 was found stolen. The estimated cost of the above mentioned AC Unit Copper pipes amounts to approximately Rs. 40,000/-. He further requested to kindly look into the matter and take necessary action as the resort is the official caterer and VIP accommodation resort for all the state guests. He further mentioned that some unknown person has stolen the said items taking advantage of night time and requested immediate action.

Upon this an FIR No. 07/24 dated 29/02/2024 U/s 457/ 380 was registered at PS Chatham against unknown person.

During the course of investigation, one suspect namely Roshen Ram (31), S/o Late Lukeswar Ram, R/o Haddo near DCF Silviculture Forest was brought to PS Chatham based on the information from reliable sources. The suspected person was put through thorough interrogation and later was arrested at Police Station Chatham and the stolen property recovered.

The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri Vikas Swamy, IPS, SDPO South Andaman and overall supervision of Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
