Port Blair, Mar. 5: A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS to discuss Expenditure Monitoring and to deliberate upon matters concerning expenditure monitoring within the region in his chamber today. The meeting brought together key stakeholders and officials including Commissioner (Excise)/RO, State Police Nodal Officer, ED (IMFL), ANIIDCO, NO (Expenditure Monitoring), Manager (Lead Bank).

In order to enhance transparency in elections, the CEO has directed concerned Departments/agencies to monitor flow of cash, liquor, drugs and poll inducements to influence the electorate which disturbs the level-playing field in elections. Further, the CEO directed the concerned Department to prepare the list of sale data of IMFL, monitor unusual transaction of cash, seizure of cash, liquor, drugs etc. and all illegal seizures will be publicized for larger awareness among general public.
