Port Blair, Mar. 8: In view of the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, the Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS today held a meeting in his chamber with Nodal Officers of Manpower Management, Training Management, Material Management/Electoral Roll, Transport Management, Cyber Security, Law & Order/VM & Security Plan/Model Code of Conduct, EVM Management, Expenditure Management, Ballot Paper/Postal Ballot & ETPBS, Media/Communication Plan, Complaint Redressal/SMS Monitoring/Communication Plan/CVigil/IT & Voter Helpline/Computerization, Observers to discuss the broad responsibilities of Nodal Officer.

For effective monitoring of varied activities to be undertaken during elections, the State Nodal Officers are appointed who shall function under the Chief Electoral Officer to ensure smooth conduct of elections in this UT. The CEO has briefed the roles and responsibilities of Nodal Officers during elections.
