Diglipur, March 8: Under the leadership of Shri Mahadev Gain (Zilla Parishad Member Radhanagar constituency) and Shri Mitun Das (Pradhan Gram Panchayat Ramnagar) a gathering of all Pre-1978 license holders at Radhanagar Gram Panchayat Hall was organised on 10th June 2023. The gathering discussed the issue of non-allotment of land to all Pre-1978 license holders by the revenue department since past 20 years, due to dispute in issued survey number as per land license provided to all pre-1978 cases in the year 2002.

During the meeting a committee was formed by selecting one team leader from each corner of North Andaman like Jaganadera, Bermachad, HariKatai, Narayan Tickrey, Ganesh Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Shyamnagar, Radhanagar areas to take up the issue to higher level of the Administration and prepare a mass petition addressed to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and other Revenue officials.

The license holders demanded an early allotment of their land by taking suitable measure from Administration.  “We are not demanding to disturb the Post 1978 cases those are already in physical possession since years. We are demanding our rights to allot our land because we are now roaming here and there since 20 years but neither any political leaders or Andaman administration are thinking about our future. So we the Pre-1978 license holders are united to fight our own battle to claim our rights from the administration with legal procedure and thus we have united today at Radhanagar”, said a member of the general public.
