Port Blair, Mar. 11: The Election Commission of India has conducted a Briefing Meeting of Central Observers today in Hybrid mode i.e. a mix of Virtual Mode and Physical Mode in view of the forthcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha – 2024.

The observers play a very important role in conducting a free and fair election. As the observers are the Senior Government Officers deployed by the Commission at the Assembly/Parliamentary level with the purpose to maintain the level playing field during the election, the observers are eyes and ears of the Commission. Accordingly, Observers have to submit many reports to the Commission on a regular basis.

The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS along with observers, Shri. A S P S Raviprakash, IAS, Shri Arnab Sarkar, IRS(IT), Shri B Senthil Kumar, IDAC attended the meeting through virtual mode at the Mini Conference Hall, Secretariat.
