Port Blair, March 11: On March 10th and 11th, 2024, special excise raids were conducted by the Central Crime Station Police Station to crack down upon the illicit sale of liquor. As a result, a police team consisting of Head Constables Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur, Constables Rajendran, Y. Srinivas Rao and Amit Kumar Singh seized 94 bottles of illegally possessed Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from the possession of five individuals namely P. Anbalagan R/o Jarodakalan, Sippighat, S. Rajendran R/o Haddo, Mohd. Safique R/o Shadipur Nepali Basti, Zakir Hussain R/o Phoenix Bay and C. Sekar R/o Shore Point, Bambooflat. All individuals were subsequently arrested. Cases under Section 32 of the Regulation III Act of 1876 have been registered at PS CCS, and investigations are ongoing.
