Port Blair, Mar. 13: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B S Jaglan, IAS visited Govt. Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Dollygunj today and interacted with Students and staff. He addressed all the students on importance of voting process and requested them to get their names included in voter list ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. CEO further stated that, they can only vote if their name appears in the voter list and hence, requested to check and verify their names in the Voter list/Electoral Roll.

If any student is above 18 years and still not registered they can apply through “Voter Helpline App”, online website: https://voterportal.eci.gov.in or https://voters.eci.gov.in and https://www.ceoandaman.nic.in or call Toll Free No.1950 for all their electoral related queries. They were also exhorted to bring their family members and neighbours to Polling Stations to cast their vote and be proud to be part of “Chunav Ka Parv Desh Ka Garv”.

During interaction, the first time voters showed their enthusiasm to be part of electoral process.

The CEO also briefed on various IT Applications of Election Commission of India to students. These applications cater to a wide range of needs of voters and general public related to election process. Further, he requested to download Voter Helpline App.  The Voter Helpline App has witnessed a significant response and popularity from the citizens. This application of the Election Commission of India has revolutionized the way we access and engage with voter-related services. From registration of new electors, correction of demographic details in the electoral roll, the search of names in the electoral roll, and other election-related services, these apps have streamlined the process of connecting citizen to ECI.

The CEO also requested all young voters to cast their vote in the ensuing General Elections to Lok Sabha – 2024.
