Verma, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati, A & N Islands Shri S R Sharma, Shri Rahul Agrawal & other members of Laghu Udyog Bharti were also present in the programme.

As a technical resource person Shri Debanu Das Mahapatra, Lean Consultant, Kolkata took the session. Shri Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Director Br. MSME-DFO Port Blair coordinated the programme.

In his key note address, the Airport Director said most of the MSME is driven by the talent of persons and families. This assumption is quite impractical that generations over generations family members will have the same kind of interest and talent in the same field. Therefore, MSMEs are most vulnerable on two fronts. One is Succession Planning and other is Working methodologies/work practice.

On succession planning the Airport Director expressed that the success of a business is more important than who is leading the business. We should be open to induct talent from outside the family also for leading the business.

On working methodology, he said that the idea is we are inbuilt champion of Jugaad methodology but Jugaad is never the best solution. If we will not adopt the best solution, there are very little chances to get the best outcome.

We have to explore and adopt the best proven methodologies in the world and save our time and resources in reinventing the wheel.

Lean methodology is also one of the best proven methodologies to identify and reduce wastage. In business money saved is also equivalent to the money earned.
