Port Blair, March 13: Keeping in mind the upcoming General Election 2024, stringent security measures have been implemented in South Andaman District. One Company of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) has been strategically deployed across various Police Stations in the district. Their primary objective is to uphold law and order by conducting essential activities such as flag marches, area patrolling and establishing checkpoints (Nakas) to ensure anti-social elements don’t influence or adversely affect the upcoming elections.

The collaborative efforts between the local police and the CAPF aim to guarantee the integrity and fairness of the electoral process. Moreover, paramount importance is placed on safeguarding the safety and security of the general public during this crucial period.

Smti Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District alongwith CAPF & the team of Bambooflat Police Station conducted foot patrolling at Bambooflat area to ensure their presence in dealing with any untoward incidents specially Election related matters.
