Port Blair, March 17: As part of the General Election-2024, the SVEEP Team of DEO (SA) Office organized a Blood Donation Camp at Junglighat Khaitan Mandapam today. The Blood Donation Camp form part of the series of activities carried by SVEEP team to create voter education and awareness among the masses to participate in the democratic process by exercising their franchise on the day of Polling i.e April 19, 2024, the day on which Election will be held in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The Returning Officer, ANIPC, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS graced the occasion and gave away the Donors Certificates to the voluntary donors and also handed over memento and T-shirt inscribed ‘Chunav Ka Parv- Desh Ka Garv’. He also interacted with the blood donors on the occasion.

Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in co-ordination with Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, and Directorate of Health Services facilitated the Blood Donation Camp. The technical team from Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for the blood transmissible diseases. The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and briefed the donors on various aspects and importance of blood donation.

Shri Wairokpam Punshiba Singh, IAS, Nodal Officer for SVEEP welcomed the chief guest, donors and others present on the occasion. He informed the gathering about the SVEEP activities being organized as part of the General Election-2024 to create maximum awareness among the people to participate in the electoral process.
