Port Blair, April 4: To reduce the power outages observed in Port Blair and South Andaman regions, a Task Force has been formed to inspect the feeders and Tie lines to assess the condition of conductors, cables, clamps, channels, transformers, earthing, and other related fixtures of the entire transmission and distribution lines of Port Blair and the South Andaman area. The Task Force has examined the fault-prone and vulnerable areas, between Bambooflat, Jungle Bari, Dundus Point, Viper Island, Minnie Bay, and Shoal Bay and Ferargunj.

As per the inspection and assessment, the execution team will be mobilized on Apr. 6 and 7 for carrying out the repair and maintenance of T&D lines and line clearance by pruning of trees to avoid power outages and electrical faults.

During this exercise, power supply in Sippighat, Teylarabad, Bimblitan, Manjeri, Guptapara, Manglutan, Wandoor, Chouldari, Tushnabad, Port Mout, Tirur, Templemyo & Ograbraj, part of Sippighat, Chouldari, Lal Pahar, Tsunami Shelter, Mithakhari, Namunaghar, Dunduspoint & Hathi Tappu, Bambooflat to Wimberlygunj, Mathura, Brindavan, Ferrargunj to Jirkatang, Stewartgunj, Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj to Shoal Bay and Hopetown will be affected on Apr. 6 and 7 between 8 am and 3 pm for ensuring the safety of employees working on the lines.
