Wimberlygunj, Jan 22: Along with the entire world the Hindu Seva Sangh designed a 14 days long program to celebrate and mark the Pran Pratishtha Pooja of Shri Ramchandra ji mandir at Ayodhya on 22nd January 2024.

This 14-day program began on 7th of January with the replica of Ayodhya Ram Mandir connecting every village and temple of South Andaman village with the culmination of this program on 21st of January with the Rath Yatra starting from Sri Ram Mandir Chunna Bhatta to ITF ground Port Blair. The replica made by HSS for this program has one of the largest replica of Sri Rama Mandir Ayodhya, which became a huge crowd puller and main point of attraction for the islanders.

Port Blair, Jan 22: On 18/01/2024, acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, a Police team comprising of Insp. Vishal Ram, SHO PS CCS, SI P.Moideen Kutty, SI Parvash, Head Constable K.Venkateshwar Rao & Shibani Biswas and Constables K. Rajendran & Lily Grace of PS CCS conducted raid at Calicut and seized 564 grams of Ganja from the possession of one Raju Mondal S/o Shri. Rabiul Mondal (29) yrs, Pvt. Worker R/o Calicut and he was arrested on the spot following due procedure.

Port Blair, Jan. 22: As part of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative and as per the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, the Foundation Day of Manipur, Meghalaya & Tripura was celebrated enthusiastically yesterday in Raj Niwas. Persons hailing from Manipur, Meghalaya & Tripura participated in the function. The function ended with high tea, group photograph and presentation of mementos to the invitees.

Port Blair, Jan. 22: As part of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative, ICDS Urban Project, South Andaman organized programmes at Ward No. 23, Bird Line and Vivekananda Youth Club at Dairy Farm on Jan.20. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, a flagship initiative of the Govt. of India launched in 2015, aims to prevent gender-based sex-selective elimination, ensuring the survival and protection of the girl child and promoting improved education outcomes. As part of this initiative, sports event was organized at Ward No. 23, Bird Line, in which, Smt. Radhika Dheeraj, Councilor, Ward No. 23 was the chief guest.

Port Blair, Jan. 22: As part of Animal Welfare Fortnight, a Mass Sterilization Camp for pet dogs and cats was conducted at Veterinary Hospital in Junglighat on Jan. 20, 2024. During the camp, 22 sterilizations were performed including 19 dogs (8 males and 11 females) and 3 male cats. The Animal Birth Control (ABC) team, consisting of Senior Veterinary Officers (SVOs) from South Andaman, managed the sterilization procedures.
