Port Blair, April 8: In view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2024, the Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri B.S. Jaglan, IAS, alongwith State Police Nodal Officer, Ms. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, inspected some checkpoints in South Andaman District yesterday to ensure that the Flying Squad Team (FST), Static Surveillance Team (SST) alongwith Police teams are actively working at checkpoints.

All contesting candidates and parties asked to refrain from violating guidelines of MCC during election campaigning

Port Blair, April 8: The Office of the Returning Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency have received complaints regarding violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines by ways of distribution of free ration kits and cash by certain parties to woo the electors in their favour in the forthcoming General Elections. Acting on the complaints, the Returning Officer, ANIPC has taken strict action and Show Cause Notices have been issued to the defaulters. The defaulters have been put on notice and further action as per laws will be taken.
