Port Blair, May 15: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on May 18, 2024 at 1500 hrs from Chatham Wharf/Junglighat Jetty and will sail for Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo for the above sailing will commence from May 16, 2024 onwards between 0900 hrs & 1200 hrs at Commercial Wing.

Port Blair, May 14: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to fill up the 80 vacant posts of Seaman in Directorate of Shipping Services.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that it has come to his notice that approximately 80 positions for seamen are currently vacant within the Directorate of Shipping Services, A&N Administration.

Port Blair, May 15: Passengers/general public have been informed that the vessel MV Kamorta will sail for Rangat via Swaraj Dweep & Long Island on May 16, 2024 at 0700 hrs from Phoenix Bay Jetty and will sail for Port Blair on the same day at 1300 hrs from Rangat via same route.

Port Blair, May 14: The biodiversity in the tropical islands like Andaman represents humongous array of unique plants and animals that are found exclusively in the islands. This special characteristics of islands flora and fauna across the world is often threatened by introduction of non-native species. Many evidences suggest that the extinction of species due to invasion of non-native species are much faster in the islands than the larger mainland. This is because the island species are often evolved with less predators and less completion for resources; therefore, the island species cannot compete well with the non-native species.
