Port Blair, March 18: The District Election machinery under South Andaman has already kick started the election tasks towards conduct of General Elections-2024 on 16/03/2024 soon after the announcement of Election schedules by the Commission in a free, fair and transparent manner.
In order to create awareness of the latest instructions of the Commission, Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, District Election Officer, South Andaman has conducted many meetings with the key stakeholders on 18/03/2024 as per the requirements of the Election Commission of India by inviting the Press and Print media persons, Printing press owners and the Political parties.

Ayyappan as its candidate for the lone Parliamentary seat in Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. The Polit Bureau of the Party in New Delhi has conveyed the approval of the candidature of D. Ayyappan. He is the Secretary of the CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee and Vice President, CITU A & N State Committee.

Port Blair, March 18: There has been a recent surge in fraudulent emails, purportedly from Indian Cyber Crime & Indian Cyber Squad or in the name of government fictitious agencies, such as BPR&D, IB & CBI. These malicious emails are accompanied by fake and fabricated letters, falsely bearing the letterheads of investigative bodies such as the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), or Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D). They threaten severe legal consequences if recipients do not cooperate and falsely accuse individuals of involvement in pornographic images and materials or narcotics smuggling.
