Port Blair, Oct. 8: The Zoological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre is organizing a compulsory Training Course on Coastal and Marine Biodiversity of Island Ecosystem for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers during 09-13th October 2023 sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.  This training course will be attended by 21 senior level Indian Forest Officers (IFS) from various states & Union territory (AGMUT, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand).

Port Blair, Oct. 8: As part of 69th Wildlife Week celebration, the Science Centre Port Blair organized a befitting programme for school students today. The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation’.

As part of programme, the students went around the Science Centre to identify the flora & fauna in its natural habitat and explained in detail about the bio-diversity of the Island. Thereafter a ‘Smell the Nature’ competition was organized among the students. Around 100 students from various schools in & around Port Blair took part in the programme.

Port Blair, Oct. 7: The candidates who have appeared in the CBT held on 20/7/2023 for the post of Lab Technician (Science) and Instructor (Mechanical Workshop) in the establishment Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology have been informed that the list of eligible candidates for the skill test (who have scored 40% and above marks) has been uploaded in the common recruitment e-portal https://erecruitment.andaman.gov.in/crap. Schedule of skill test shall be intimated shortly.

Port Blair, Oc. 7: The first counseling for admission to BA.LLB. five years-Integrated Course) offered in Andaman Law College will be held on Oct.13 at 10 am in the college auditorium. The final general merit list and category wise merit list of the candidates for the academic year 2023-24 has been published in the Common College Admission Portal https://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in and the College Notice Board.    Interested candidates who had already applied and found eligible for the course have been requested to be present for the counseling at the designated time, date and venue with all original certificates. 

Port Blair, Oct. 6: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of A & N Islands for a one-time age relaxation for the PGT selection in 2023.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament said that there is large-scale disappointment and concern among potential candidates for the Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands regarding the age limit set for the PGT position under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The age limit set at 30 years, considering the extensive qualifications required, is perceived as unfeasible by many.
