Degree Programme for the academic session 2023-24 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair has been extended up to 26th September 2023 due to non-receipt of results from Pondicherry University. Desirous candidates can now submit their online application up to 26th September 2023 via URL http://collegeadmission.andaman.gov.in.

Port Blair, Sept. 15: Considering the high rates of suicides in the islands, a special drive against suicide namely "AASHA - LET'S SAY YES TO LIFE" has been launched. The first session was held at VKV School, Port Mout and was presented by Shri. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat.
About 60 students from class 10th to 12th and staffs of VKV Port Mout were sensitized about the importance of mental health, factors that contribute to suicidal thoughts, warning signs that may lead to suicide, how to seek help, where to seek help, how to overcome failures etc.

Recently there has been a sudden surge in impersonation of senior Government Officials even Elected Representatives etc. of the Union Territories through WhatsApp. These scammers using photographs/profiles of high ranking officials and individuals as well as various other dignitaries, initiate conversations with Government employees/private individuals pretending/impersonating and making various excuses with request for money and/or to ask them to purchase items/gifts online for them.

Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organizing Committee has condoled the sudden demise of Shri TM Aboobacker, Chargeman, Transport Department, A&N Administration at a private hospital at Bengaluru today (15.09.2023) evening. He was 54 years. The Secretary has conveyed my heartfelt condolences to the family members of late TM Aboobacker.
