Port Blair, Oct. 20: As part of the Special Campaign 3.0 for institutionalizing Swachhata and minimizing pendency in Government Offices from Oct.2 to 31,2023, the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Port Blair had joined hands with PBMC in the massive Cleanliness Drive conducted in and around Zilla Parisad South Andaman building. The regular and Sanitary staff members led by Smti Rajlakshmi AD(Admn.), Zilla Parishad, South Andaman conducted shramdan today. The cleanliness drive will continue till Oct. 31, 2023 in Government Offices.

Port Blair, Oct. 20: The merit list in respect of the examination conducted for the post of Mukhya Sevika (Direct) and Mukhya Sevika (From AWW) alongwith the OMR sheets has been uploaded in the official website http://andssw1.and.nic.in/socialwelfare and at https://erecruitment.andaman.gov.in/CRAP/Result.aspx for the information of candidates. The select and waiting list for the above mentioned post has been displayed in the notice board for verification of certificates w.e.f. 20.10.2023 to 26.10.23.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The BRC South Andaman with the support of Pankh Andaman (NGO) inaugurated a Resource Room for the children with special needs at Govt. Senior Secondary School Junglighat on October 13th 2023. Pankh facilitated the children with basic learning essentials and also furnishing the Resource Room.

Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, Deputy Education officer, South Andaman inaugurated the resource room which was followed by a cultural programme presented by the special children and a cake cutting ceremony. Gifts were also given to all the special children.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded immediate resumption of the Kolkata ship service via Mayabunder, a lifeline for the residents of Mayabunder and the northern regions of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Member of Parliament said that for an extended period, a well-established practice had been in place, where ships to Kolkata were scheduled via Mayabunder from Port Blair, occurring monthly once or twice. This strategic arrangement aimed to provide the local population with a more convenient and accessible means of transportation, eliminating the need for them to undertake the arduous journey to Port Blair to access ships or flights to Kolkata.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has raised the demand that concerning the well-being of the patients at the Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in Hutbay and R.K Pur.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Halder said that the doctors and staff nurses in the PHCs have been actively raising donations and collections to ensure that the patients receive the nutrition they require during their stay at the Hospital.
